2006: The Spark of Ambition
Our journey began with a single student’s determination. To fund his higher education while studying at the University of Moratuwa, our founder launched a modest, self-employed venture in Sri Lanka. What started as a solo endeavor to cover university expenses planted the very first seeds of what would eventually grow into Leaves Lanka Pvt Ltd—built on a foundation of hard work, resourcefulness, and a vision for the future.
2012: Laying the Foundations
With higher education successfully completed and a permanent base established in Homagama, the venture took its next major structural step. What began as a student’s solo endeavor officially transitioned into a registered partnership business. This milestone marked the transition from a personal project into a structured corporate entity, setting the stage for long-term growth and commercial expansion under the Leaves Lanka name.
2020: Navigating the Storm
When the global pandemic struck, the business faced its most critical challenge. Like many industries worldwide, the sudden economic standstill hit operations severely, leaving the venture at an uncertain standstill with no clear path forward. Yet, it was during this period of being completely struck in place that the resilience of Leaves Lanka was tested, laying the groundwork for a profound pause, reflection, and eventual reinvention.
2023: A New Era Begins
Rising from the challenges of the past, the business achieved its biggest structural milestone yet by officially registering as a Private Limited Liability Company. This corporate evolution marked the birth of Leaves Lanka Pvt Ltd, signaling a fresh, ambitious era of professional management, scaled operations, and an uncompromised commitment to bringing premium, innovative wellness products to the market.
2025: The Premium Standard
To solidify our commitment to uncompromised quality, we officially applied for registration with the Sri Lanka Tea Board as a local packer. This critical step ensures our operations align with the highest regulatory standards of excellence, authenticating our sourcing pipelines and paving the way to deliver certified, premium Ceylon tea under the Leavla brand.
